Men Skin Care
- the Key to Looking Younger Now!
Skin care is
new to most men. Unlike women, we aren't automatically
inducted at a young age into the Men's Club
of Good Grooming. Men Skin Care offers the most
cutting edge product selection for men's skin care and
grooming today.
If you want
to learn how to......
ARE YOU....
30 Something?
Which means you're supposed to be in the prime of your life. Or
so people will tell you.
Lately, you may have noticed some
disturbing trends in the mirror. Your hair is turning silver at
a genuinely alarming rate. Your hips have formed a rain gutter
around your waist. And you've developed those little indicators
that tell you time's not as much on your side as you
thought.
That's right. You're starting to look your
age:
|
•
|
Crow's feet around
the eyes;
|
|
•
|
Wrinkles appearing
where you neglected to use sunscreen as a
youth;
|
|
•
|
Little brown freckles
(called solar lentigines) surfacing like poppy
seeds on a bagel;
|
| • |
Blood
vessels appearing on the top layer of your
skin; |
| • |
The skin,
itself, somehow less radiant.
Duller-looking. |
Sound familiar? Then here's what you
do...... fight back!
Use plenty of sunscreen to help to reverse
early damage. Better yet, indulge in a weekly facial scrub to
remove dead outer layers of skin. This will slowly eliminate
discolorations like brown spots, and also prevent the
appearance of fine lines.
AGAIN.....
As part of a serious, long-term skin care regime, you may want
to check out those little wonders known as alpha hydroxy acids.
Researchers at some Swiss lab found that after 22 weeks of
twice-daily AHA use, 70 percent of male subjects noticed a
significant overall improvement on their faces.
Where do you find AHAs? Try your fridge.
They occur naturally in citrus fruits and other plants from
which oils and extracts are derived.
Men Skin
Care offers several high-quality products
that contain naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acids.
For bath and body treatment, look into
glycerin cleansing bar or any of the body cleansing gels
(citrus, coriander, spice, or eucalyptus-mint blends). These
contain AHAs from a variety of all-natural sources.
40 Something?
Sleep lines have materialized on your forehead. Deep folds run
from your nostrils to the corners of your mouth. Sun freckles —
those nasty solar lentigines again (see Thirty Something) —
make you look as though a drunken pointillist has had his way
with you.
And your skin? It's getting dryer, isn't
it, and more elastic.
Continue to apply your moisturizing
sunscreen. Exercise, maintain your body weight (those faddish
rebound diets will stretch your skin beyond repair). Drink
plenty of water. And stop smoking. Whatever else you do, stop
smoking.
Anti Aging Kit
50 and Beyond?
Your skin will become dry and flaky as oil production slows.
You'll also start to lose pigment and notice the appearance of
age spots. Wrinkles will deepen, especially around your mouth
and eyes.
Is there a magic pill recommended by
Men Skin
Care to make it all go away?
Nope. Despite the hype of so-called
"anti-aging" formulations, there isn't a skin care product in
the world that'll keep you from looking your years.
Plastic surgeons will always suggest
"enhancements." But think about this option very carefully
before you sign the release forms.
Cosmetic surgery is useful only if you're a
burn victim or have a dog's hindquarters growing out the side
of your face. Otherwise, it's vain, dangerous — and the one
person who benefits most is your surgeon.
So what to do?
Dry, flaky skin is easily remedied with a
daily application of body lotion. Pigmentation problems are
solved with bleaching cream, if you really want to get extreme
about it. And you can always zap those wrinkles with a healthy
dose of alpha hydroxy acids, which are available in premium
face lotions, cleansers, and toners.
Above all else, stop obsessing over your
lost youth. There's nothing unnatural about the way you look
now, so revel in it.
The ladies certainly will.
